Allison Prang is currently a freelance reporter covering the Missouri state legislature for The Kansas City Star. She also works at Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc. as a research assistant in the resource center. Prang is in her fourth year at the University of Missouri School of Journalism where she is a student in the print and digital news sequence with an interest area in watchdog journalism. She hopes to pursue a career in political, business or investigative reporting.
Prang just concluded a semester interning in The Wall Street Journal’s Washington D.C. bureau where she helped cover a host of national and local news stories. Prior to that, she was an intern on the projects and investigations team at Bloomberg News in New York City. Her work has previously appeared in The Kansas City Star, in the Columbia Missourian, the Missouri Business Alert, ChicagoNow under Tribune Media Group, The Mash by the Chicago Tribune, the St. Louis Beacon, Chesterfield Patch, The Maneater student newspaper, The Daily Herald (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and in various publications in the Chicagoland area. She also worked at Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc. for two years as the on-the-road training assistant.
